On Sunday October 12th, 2014, ROC Martial Arts team from Fairport, New York, includes Mike, Don, Erik with coach Michael Nguyen, Ali Al-Raisi, and supporting members Dan, Dan Winters, Dan Carini, Brian West and Chau Nguyen participate in the 2014 International Isshinryu Karate Championship Kumite. Mike wins 1st place, Don earns 2nd place, Erik places 3rd, and our friend Arturo, a national karate team member of Puerto Rico, places 4th. We met Arturo last year at the 2013 International Isshinryu Karate Championships.
