2009 FIRST Robotics Competition

49 FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) robotics competition teams from Canada, Connecticut, New Jersey and New York, attend the Finger Lakes Regional - 5th year at Rochester Institute of Technology.
Xerox Corporation has been actively involved, organizing and funding 5 robotics teams: X-cats, SparX, NazarX, XQ, and the new Canandaigua team, with Xerox engineers volunteering their time.
This year's game, in honor of the 40th anniversary of the lunar landing, is called "Lunacy." Each team must create a robot that can successfully drive on a very slippery surface to simulate the gravitational force on the moon - 1/6th earth gravity.
